I need help identifying a several hotesl in Paris, France for my upcoming stay in September from 9/20/09-9/24/09.

The first is a 4* hotel in the Louvre-Marais area for $219/night on Hotwire.com. The amenities for the 4* hotel in that area is Business Center, Laundry, and High Speed Internet as the amenities?

Next is a 4* hotel in the Opera-Grand Boulevard area of Paris and has these amenities: Boutique, Fitness Center, Business center, and high speed internet during the same dates for $249/night.

Last is a 4* hotel in Montparnasse-Porte de Versailles area with these amenities for $139/night: Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, and Hight Speed Internet.

Thank you for all your help!

The Louvre/Marais hotel matches the amenities for the Westin when I booked back in July 2008.
Didn't your Priceline Win fo the Westin include a Restaurant?... that is not present in the above post.

My best guesses:

Louvre-Marais - not sure

Opera-Grand Boulevard: matches the Hotel Westminster Grand so that would be my best guess

Montparnasse-Porte de Versailles: matches Le Meridien Montparnasse and that would be my best guess

I thought mine had restaurant, too. But when I logged in and checked my details it was not there, so I assumed they had just taken it off to match the web site? I'll dig for the printout I made at the time and see what it shows. I did list a restaurant in my posting.

By the way, I tried to confirm with this Westin yesterday that the room was for two adults and a child. They told me the child (age 17) would be an additional 80euro. I asked them to contact HOTWIRE, and am glad I confirmed with my non-smoking room preference well in advance so this can be ironed out.

Thank you very much for checking and trying to dig up your old information as that would help me out a lot in my decision to "roll the dice" and risk it. I would definitely highly consider staying at the Westin if I can be somewhat sure that I'll get that.

In fact I'm a SPG Gold member and have enough points for 3 nights to stay there for free. I just need a room for the other 4 nights I'm in Paris. I would consider using my points for the 1st 3 nights...get upgraded since I'm an SPG Gold member ..and hopefully talk them into having me stay in that room after I explain my situation for the remaining nights.

What do you think? Does anyone have experience out there doing that where a combination of points and a HOTWIRE hotel rate have been used on consecutive nights?

Sorry, I was sure this would be in my travel folder, but it's not. I will check when I get home Sunday or Monday. However, when I used the "Package" tab and used your dates (flying the 19th, but hotels the 20-24, the Westin showed up with the restaurant icon, so I am not confident. I am sorry I may have misled you. There is one hotel that might be the one you see- Les Jardins du Marais. Tripadvisor is not kind. Unfortunately, the TripAdvisor ratings seem to have disappeared off the Hotwire hotel listings. That was a way to narrow things down.

I had a successful bid once on Priceline (not Hotwire) where I ended up in the same hotel where I was going to stay on business. It was a Marriott. When I checked in they upgraded me on my business rate, and then the day before I was supposed to convert to my Priceline rate I let them know. They allowed me to stay in the room I had been in. (The hotel was almost empty, which proably helped.) That's the closest I've been to your circumstances. Westin in Boston upgraded me to rooms with fab views both times I stayed there with Priceline, I assume because of my Starwood status. I always call in advance with my program numbers, in case that helps.

The Westin Paris is really a great location, but the reviews (except the most recent) are mediocre. Thin walls seems to be a major complaint. If you are the type to want to go back to your room several times a day, definitely stay there. You can stay a little farther out if you are out the whole day- after all the metro and buses are only a few blocks from any location within the peripherique.

We have stayed at the Marriott Rive Gauche four or five times from Priceline buys. We were happy there. It's not in the most central area for tourists, but it is a decent location on an easy metro line, direct to L'Etoile. The hotel is like any other Marriott, good beds, clean, not much to make you think you are in Paris, but "safe". I personally am tired of recommendations from friends or guidebooks for quaint hotels that turn out to be sorely lacking in basic amenities.

Hope someone else can help you a little better. You can send me a private message if you have any Paris questions in general that you do not find answered-I was born there and have lived there several times throughout my life.

Kobe I believe we are both looking for an answer to the same question...different dates! Mine was for 4* Louvre with same amenities as yours but from June 26 -30. I do not think it is the Westin as has been reported here as the price, amenities and number of reviews does not match. Still waiting for an answer to this puzzle hope we get one!

Birdy, I hope we get the answer sometime soon as I really want to secure a hotel and not worry about it anymore till when I go in September. Let me know if you end up buying or find anything out please. Thanks.

Also, I would like to know if anyone knows some this new hotel that showed up for the dates of 9/17-9/19 as I have decided that we will use my SPG points to stay at the Le Meridien Etoile from 9/19-9/25 for the remainder of my trip:

4* Champs Elysees-Trocadero with no amenities for $213/night

Thank you for any help you guys can provide.
