I have a strategy in mind, but I am going to try and shoot for a sub $100 rate in either the MTE or Times Square Zones. I have seen rack rates drop to the 130s in the dowtown area, but will by flying in to Laguardia and don't really want to cab it to the tip of the island. I just want to post my bidding strategies and let everyone know how it is progressing.

Selected MTE bid $89 [REJECTED]

Added Times Square bid $95 [REJECTED]

Added Chelsea Area bid $99 [REJECTED]

I will probably try again in a few days and will keep everyone posted as to my outcome. Rates are dropping fast. I am using the PRICELINE links.

used the same strategy as before

Added Times Square bid $95 [REJECTED]

Added Chelsea Area bid $99 [REJECTED]

noticed that hotwire has a 4 star hotel in the downtown soho area for these dates for only $114 [probably millinium hilton]. This is the cheapest I have ever seen a NYC 4 star hotel on hotwire. I don't want to expand to the downtown area, but might do it just for the savings.

Even with the currennt state of (economic) conditations, 4 star hotels for sub-$100 is fairly uncommon and far and few between.

If you're considering $114 for a Downtown hotel i would certainly bid higher thank you have for a 4* in one of the more centrally located midtown zones.

Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.
