traveltolive Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 This is Bricktown Hotel and Conference Center. Decidedly NOT a 3 star. I had to check out -even at this rate. Don't do it!
thereuare Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! There are likely other 3* properties in this zone than just the one above, can you please add a reply to this thread with the amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page, as this wil help other user differentiate this property from other 3 star hotels in the zone... also the dates of your stay (so this thread can appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins)As well, i'm sure it would help others if you commented what bothered you about the hotel rather than a blanket "don't do it"... what was so bad that you had to check-out early? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. traveltolive Posted March 5, 2009 Author Report Posted March 5, 2009 Sorry about that! The amenities: Airport Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access Re: Beware, I was trying to be polite. Where to start? First, very strange, old conference hotel setting. There was a small (live) dog behind the front desk. The room itself had: 1) what appeared to be blood splattered on the wall near the bed; spackle patches on the wallpaper, which was also peeling from the ceiling; dirty (I won't elaborate -trust me, it was dirty). Old 1970's style sliding door to outside. Very old bathroom. Worn, stained furniture. This, along with very long, deserted hallways, did not provide a sense of security. I will say the staff was very nice and the lobby seemed nice. They had a Hummer for a shuttle! Honestlyl, folks -I couldn't make this stuff up.Hotwire graciously refunded my $$ and helped me to book a highly successful fresh hotel. Hotwire was super -and they explained to me that they are working on the star ratings being based on customer feedback, and not amenities. This is really the only time I have ever had an issue with the star rating not reflecting the actual hotel, and it sounds like Hotwire was going to remedy the situation. Kudos to HOTWIRE!
