jetcap Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Presently looking for a hotel for my first trip to Chicago. I've sort of settled in to the Magnificant Mile area and will be there for three nights starting on April 30th and leaving May 3. Right now my only choice seems to be a 4.5 star with food, business centre, internet and fitness centre at $126 which I'm okay with. I'm presuming this to be the Intercontinental Hotel based on everything I read here. Hotels with less stars are more expensive and ideally I'd like something a little cheaper. But based on everything else Isee including all sorts of "deals" at $99 at various places including SwissHotel don't seem to work for when I'm going. Is my best course of action grabbing this or should I wait things out and things will get cheaper. I've been burned before in hopes of getting things cheaper only to see things go in the opposite direction. Thanks for the help.
thereuare Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!I agree that the best guess for the hotel you're currently being offered in the Inter-Continental. There is also a 4* in the NMA-WaterTower-Gold Coast zone for just a few dollars more with:Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Tennis which is a match for The Avenue Hotel if that is of any interest to you. Both get get pretty good reviews.Nobody can say if rates will go up or down between now and you're stay (for a further discussion see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ)If you're hapy with the above then you can lock it now, OR if price is most important and you're flexible to stay anywhere within the zone(s) that you select, you coudl try to beat the above rates by bidding on PRICELINE.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. jetcap Posted March 5, 2009 Author Report Posted March 5, 2009 Isee including all sorts of "deals" at $99 at various places including SwissHotel don't seem to work for when I'm going.Or what I could do is wait and see Swissotel show up for $86 at 1am in the morning and grab it. Total cost including taxes for 3 nights was $300.85. Was never a doubt what hotel I was purchasing thanks to BetterBidding and I clicked on the link to book. After booking airfare back in December and seeing prices of over $200 across the board on every site, I'm like a giddy schoolgirl knowing what a deal I got. I will put in a more formal posting later today listing all particulars. Now....anybody with an in on cheap Cub tickets?
