Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Virginia Beach (Downtown Norfolk) Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hote

After trying several rebids to get the 4* Westin (bid up to $81 on it and the priceline/Expedia rate is showing $114) I decided to try for the 3.5* Marriott Waterside. Surprised to have won the Sheraton. It looks like Priceline has upped the rating on this hotel from 3* to 3.5*. I'm a little wary from the TripAdvisor ratings, but we shall see. I will post a review of my stay.

I was in this area a few months ago and the Sheraton looked nice (i walked thru the lobby)... it's attached to a buidling which contains numerous bars, restaurants, and a food court (although most of the food court was closed on Sunday)

I remember researching this area before my own stay, and generally speaking, most of the hotels don't get great reviews, as evidenced by this 3.0/5.0 Tripadvisor rating... yet it's ranked #14 out of 48 hotels in the Norfolk area.

All the parking garages are owned by the city and the hotels usually have agreements with one closest to them for in/out preivleges, so make sure you park in the right one if you intend to use the parking garage. Also, you may be able to avoid part of the cost of if you put your car on the street Saturday near the end of meter enforcement so you won't need to pay again until Monday morning (and note a few hours on the street monday it may be cheaper to put the car in a garage then to feed the meter)
