Atko Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 I'm a newbie from Australia. My check-in date is May 3 2009 for 3 nights in Downtown LA. Hotwire shows 3.5* hotel for $89 per night with fitness, restaurant, business centre, and high speed internet. Can you suggest which hotel this is?PS I'm searching for 2 rooms. If I enter 3 adults, I get $89 per night. If I enter 2 adults/1 child, I get $69 instead.

Atko Posted March 1, 2009 Author Report Posted March 1, 2009 I'm hoping it's Sheraton Downtown. Can you comment as to why the Sheraton is more likely? When I search now the price is $69 per room regardless of the combination of adults/children. Does that narrow it down between the two?
Atko Posted March 1, 2009 Author Report Posted March 1, 2009 I also see that the HOTWIRE shows that the hotel has a 3.5 star T/A rating from 80+ reviews. The 3.5 rating matches both hotels, but one difference is however that search on T/A shows that the rating on Sheraton is from 85 reviews whereas the rating on Kyoto is from 92 reviews. Because HOTWIRE says the rating is based on 80+ reviews (rather than 90+ if it was the Kyoto), does that mean it is most likely the Sheraton?
thereuare Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 HOTWIRE doesn't use a 90+ to disply the Tripadvisor info... after 80+ the next level shown would be 100+.Both the Sheraton and the Kyoto look exacty alilke before purchase so there is no way to determine which one is being offered above.I don't know BABYSKIN's reasoning to think this is more likely the Sheraton, but i would be prepared for either if you purchase this offering, especially since the Kyoto has only started Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Atko Posted March 2, 2009 Author Report Posted March 2, 2009 Thanks for your assistance. You were right. It was the Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens. Happy with that all the same - certainly can't complaint at the price. Saved 45%.
