I never booked anything below 3* on priceline before. But because it is mardi gras, I had to go down to 2* and got this hotel without expecting it since all reviews seem pretty bad. When we checked in at the hotel, even though I called to confirm my room selection for a non-smoking, 2 double beds room, they still insisted that I booked a smoking, 1 king bed room because I am a priceline customer and they are out of the room I wanted. After giving the name of the person I spoke to, the receptionist claimed that person was fired. But I still persistently asking for the type of room I wanted. Finally they would find me the room after the manager stepped out to see what's going on. We got a corner room for mardi gras at $55 per nite. The room was pretty nice and big. No filthy smell at all. The doors could use some renovation. Bathroom was small but worked. Hallway was pretty noisy at night since it is mardi gras. Breakfast included was just so-so. Parking was plenty and free at the back of the hotel. Elevator can only fit 4 persons at a time, which is very inconvenient. The hotel location is pretty convenient since it is just off hwy 10. It is about 10 minutes drive to French Quarter without traffic. They do not provide any shuttle service to FQ anymore.
