Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip North) Venetian

I thought this might prove handy for somebody. I was assigned a room at The Venetian for $123 a night on PRICELINE.

It was showing as $169 on Hotwire and I've seen various Venetian Specials for $179 a night.

Stupidly I didn't lowball my first offer so I've probably paid over the odds, but I thought I'd share this info so somebody wanting those dates doesn't repeat my error! :)

If somebody is bidding for a 5* on 03/20/09 - 03/22/09 in Vegas Strip North I'd be interested what kind of rates you're getting!

Also I'm not exactly sure what's going on this weekend in Vegas (I'm from the UK) but the rates seem to be particularly elevated across all properties this weekend only in March. The calendar says it's the first day of spring on Sat 21st March....is it spring break? Or maybe just a mega convention is in town I don't know...Maybe someone could tell me..

But I guess I'm lucky I paid under the asking price and it's The Venetian and not the Trump, so not too much to complain about! :)

Thanks to the admins on this site for all the work they do, you're providing a valuable service!! I just wish I'd read a bit more on here before I bid!

The opening rounds of the NCAA Men's basketball tournament is that weekend and it is a big draw for sports enthusiasts and gamblers. It always drives up demand around the game nights (Thursday and Friday prices and availability can be worse than Saturday) and often hotels with better or larger sports books tend to sell out or have higher prices (such as Caesar's). Despite the higher hotel prices - you'll probably enjoy having the added excitement that comes with this influx of fans.

I'm trying to find a good deal for Friday as it is - I was able to get Encore for Saturday and Sunday at $189 via a travelzoo discount.
