thereuare Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 The above is a match for the Radisson Celebration so that would be our best guess as well. Please remember to start your purchases with the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. geo Posted March 3, 2009 Author Report Posted March 3, 2009 OK follow-up I've been trying Priceline tonight to get the Radisson Resort Celebration for around $40 instead of the $60 which is the new price for one night for what I believe is the Radisson Resort. Anyway, I bid on a 3* in the Disney area for one night April 8th on Priceline using the link posted in this site. I bid $35 and it was a no go. I added Kissimmee which doesn't have any 3* hotels and bid $36 and was declined again. In reading the priceline florida forum I see this hotel accepting $30-$40 bids for a 3* Disney. I'd like to bid again do I have to wait 24 hours? Thanks!
thereuare Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 At the 3* level you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-biddding and how to determine your re-bid zones you can read about it here: Priceline Re-Bidding ExplainedFeel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones (strongly recommended if you're new to re-bidding) before proceeding. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. geo Posted March 4, 2009 Author Report Posted March 4, 2009 Well I tried 3 more bids at the rate of $38, $40 and then $42 to no avail. This was for a one night reservation on April 8th (extending our vacation by a day). I still see the Radisson Celebration available on Hotwire for $60 for this one night or if I put two nights in for Hotwire (still an option for us to extend the vac by 2 days) it is $57 per night on Hotwire. So it doesn't appear that the Radisson is sold out. Other wins at this hotel seem to be in the $30-$40 range, I haven't seen very much over $40. Maybe I will try one more bid for $45 and see what happens. Perhaps it's getting too close for rooms at this hotel at an inexpensive rate because its only 5 weeks away and/or spring break time or could it be that the priceline rooms are sold out?? Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks!
thereuare Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Rates are date specific, as a 'real world' example:I took a win for the Radisson Celebration at random and found the previously linked win for 6/8-6/12, where the best available rate directly thru the Radisson website is $80/nite. Checking for your date(s) above the best rate is $98/nite... so rates for your stay are more in demand and fetch a higher hotel direct rate... it woudl stand to reason that this would require a higher than usual bid to win on PRICELINE as well. :)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. geo Posted March 4, 2009 Author Report Posted March 4, 2009 Thanks, I was able get get rooms here on Hotwire a couple months ago for $53 per night (April 9-15th) and the best rate on the web at the time from what I remember was also $90-100. I'll try another bid at $50 and if no go I'll book the room via Hotwire. Thanks again for the help. And I will follow-up with what I end up with regardless.Geo
