I'm new to the board, but love the concept. I'd like a bidding strategy for one/both of these hotels. I've gotten the Maderna for $70 before, but came up empty this time. Obviously, I'd like to pay as little as possible. I appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks!

I meant Hotel Madera or Topaz.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

You can't bid on a specific hotel... to use PRICELINE you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the minimum star level (or higher) that you select. Are you willing to accept any 3.5* or better hotel in this zone?

If you're trying to target, or avoid, a particular property HOTWIRE may be a better option if you're able to identify the property beforehand based upon the amenities and any other information shown to be associated with the hotel offered.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise according.

Thanks for the reply! The issue is I need a place that takes pets. From what I can tell all hotels 3.5*+ in the Downtown-White House neighborhood allow pets, so any one of them would work.

The hotel lists should not be considered complete. As per the comments at the top of the Hotel List:

This list is NOT a complete list of all hotels that Priceline offers in this area, it is ONLY a compilation of hotels that have already been reported on this forum. Hotels are added/removed by Priceline all the time, and star ratings can change at ANY time. As well, the geographic boundaries of an area are subject to change, so it is always a good idea to look at the Priceline map before purchasing....

In light of the above, you MAY get a hotel that is NOT on this list, or get a hotel on this list but at a star level you didn't expect (if the star rating has changed).

If you're willing to accept this risk we'll be happy to suggest a strategy for you to follow, but i think that it is indeed a risk. HOTWIRE would be a risk as well, but less so, if you can accurately identify the hotel offered before your purchase.

Let us know your thoughts and/or how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.

I haven't found anything good on HOTWIRE. I think I want to take my chances bidding on either the Madera (DT) or Palomar (Dupont). I've already gone up to $80 in both sections with no hits. What strategy would you suggest?
