I need a hotel in downtown Montreal for June 30 to July 6.

Hotwire has a 4 star which I'm almost positive is the Sheraton for $76.

There are 3 wins for the Sheraton for July 2/3/4 for $63.

The last time I used the bidding system I offerred the same amount as a posted win and got that particular hotel.

I really need to have a pool at that time of year in Montreal.

What do you think I should do...gamble on the 63 rate on priceline...or opt for the higher (and guaranteed pool) on HOTWIRE.

It would be appreciated if you shared all your future wins with the board... the information can help others, just as those who posted previously helped you.

If you need a pool then i would opt for the higher priced option to get what you want... if you simply want a pool then i would roll the dice.

Think about it this way... if you win a hotel for $63/nite and it doesn't have a pool, would that still be money well spent? :) Better to get what you want, and rather than focus on the potential $10-$15 a nite you leave on the table, focus on the $50+ per nite you're saving vs. a conventionall booked room.

Here is an update. I (using your board) booked the Sheraton in downtown Toronto on May 14, 15, 16 for $50.00 through Priceline. My first bid was for the l4th and 15th. When I was successful in getting the Sheraton (my absolute favourtie place to stay in Toronto) I booked for an additional night - same price - same hotel. Just as a point of interest I was charged 21.52 for the original booking and 14.11 for the additional night. That doesn't add up to me, but in the long run it doesn't matter either cause i am very pleased with my Toronto "wins". Following that successful transaction I bid $60.00 for a 4 star in Montreal and got the Sheraton for June 30, July l,2,3,4,5. I was thrilled with that. I am going to the jazz festival which I have done several times in the past and have paid 60.00 for a room you literally couldn't swing a cat in.

With respect to the other win mentioned in my previous message - that bid was made by a friend who I coached over the phone. I know he used Priceline through your board. I asked him to post his win.

Since there are no stupid questions - is this how I "post" my wins?....by informing you. I'm sure that information is on the site somewhere...

Thanks for your help and for maintaining the board.
