Hotwire Hotel: 3.5* Detroit (Airport DTW) Embassy Suites

Hi all - new member here & look forward to contributing. :)

Need to travel to the airport area 2/24-2/26 and headed to Hotwire. Came up with a couple good options, but checked them against the hotel list here and am still clueless. Hoping someone can lend a helping hand?

3.5* for 62 ... showing Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry, Internet, & Golf

EDIT -- duh to me! just figured out Hotwire's trick of hiding all features until clicking continue and then following an additional link ... so this is obviously Embassy Suites judging by the Kitchenette icon

3* for 46 ... showing Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, & Internet

Actually, the 3.5* on my HOTWIRE search shows a Tripadvisor rating of 3.5/5.0 with 20+ reviews and this does not match the Embassy Suites. Although differenent then the amenities previously reported (nearly 3 years ago) for this property my best guess for this hotel is the Hilton Suites.

The 3* is a match for the Metropolitan Hotel at Detroit Airport so that would be our best guess for that one.

I ended up bidding on the 3.5*, which was the Embassy Suites. There isn't a Hilton Suites by DTW any longer - the chain is phasing that brand out and replacing them with Embassy Suites after a remodel, which is what happened here.

Also, a great thing about the Hilton chains lately - when I book through Priceline (meaning they do not have my address, e-mail, etc. I believe, as it is not on my check out paper) - their system rewards my Hhonors account with points for my hotel stay! I get points on the amount I paid through Priceline or Hotwire, my gold member bonus, my 50% base point bonus, and a bonus on any room service I order. :)

Can you please clarify... did you go for a 3.5* on HOTWIRE or did you instead bid on PRICELINE?

What was the amount paid? (per nite before fees and taxes)

If HOTWIRE, can you please confirm the amenities shown before your purchase which should still be avaialble by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page... if PRICELINE we'll move this entire thread to that section of the board.

What did you mean on your edit, you clicked on continue and then followed an additional link? Which extra link did you click. When I have searched hotwire I've never come across an extra link that helps identify a property as you suggest? If I am missing something, would like to know about it. Thanks for clarifying!

On some properties, when there are a lot of icons, if you click to go to the detail page and then click "see all amenities", additional amenities beyond the initial ones are shown...
