Click continue to get more details on the listing. Then click "see all amenities" - do you see more than the ones listed above?

AaronJb: Thanks yes. I just did what you told me and saw more amenities. They're as follows:

- Resort

- Casino

- Fitness Center

- Pool

- Restaurant

I just booked at HOTWIRE through the link. It's Wyndham Rio Mar as expected. Got it 4 nights for $132 per night + tax = $162.50 per night. The cheapest from other website i found is $173 per night + tax. So this is about 23% discount which is pretty good.

One question if anyone knoww, i'm assuming from hotwire I would get the lowest class of the room - no ocean view vs. a more expensive ocean view room. If i decide to get an ocean view room, will they allow me to upgrade?

Congratulations on your win!

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to begin your bidding.

I'd call the hotel; they may allow you to do something like pay the difference between a basic room and an upgraded room. They may say no, and they may be very open to helping out - it depends on the hotel and how busy it is on those dates.

Enjoy your stay.

I just returned from the Rio Mar on a trip booked through HOTWIRE - I joined the Wyndham Rewards program and with that, I received an upgraded room (ocean view - top floor) as well as complimentary late checkout (2pm). They said that the "rewards" don't count if you book with a 3rd party, but they gave me these rewards (but not points for the stay). It's definitely worth it to sign up since it doesn't cost anything.

Islandgirl. Thanks for the info. To join this rewards program, do i sign up when i check in at the hotel? or is it something you signed up before you arrive at the hotel and you tell them you have the rewards program? Also, is it a good idea to rent a car from the airport to drive to the hotel? I've never been to PR but looks like the hotel is a bit on the eastern side of the island.

Tracker, while I'm not familiar with the area (in terms of the drive), the Wyndham Rewards program is something you can sign up for on the Wyndham website - it's free to join and they will give you a member number, etc.

As Islandgirl said, they may or may not give you any rewards benefits since it's a HOTWIRE reservation, but it doesn't hurt to try since it's free to sign up.

You sign up online and then just present your card that you receive in the mail when you check in. (If you don't receive the card in time you can print off the membership number that you receive in your email.)

As far as renting a car - it depends how much you plan to spend on food/drink at the hotel. Depending on traffic, it's about 30 minutes to an hour to the resort. There is nothing really within walking distance once you get there. The resort has everything you would need but their prices are very high (bottle of water 4.50, mixed drinks 10, breakfast buffet 20, etc). Depending on the cost of a rental, it might be worth it to rent a car - you can also drive yourself to some excursions (like the rainforest) but also keep in mind they charge $15 per day for parking :).

Hi. I have been to the resort and it is lovely. I believe the resort has a shuttle from San Juan but I do not believe it was too cheap. I always rent a car when traveling, just because I enjoy the freedom of going where I want and when I want. The resort also charges for parking as most PR resorts do. Enjoy!
