Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (Strip North) Wynn

I just returned from my Vegas trip staying at the Wynn. I love this hotel; everything about it is great including free valet parking, great amenities, big room with breathtaking view, nice casino, but the best thing was that I only paid $90/night and was successful at getting a panoramic room upgrade using the $20 trick.

Now that I love the Wynn so much, I'm afraid I might not get it again (or worse, end up with Trump) for my upcoming trip in May during the Memorial Day weekend.

For this trip I will be bidding for up to 4 rooms (friend's birthday celebration) and so I don't want to disappoint my friends. So, please help on strategy: when and how to bid.

Max = $100/night

Dates: 5/22 - 5/25

Hotwire currently has the Wynn for $143/night (Frid) & $139/night (Sat & Sun) and Trump for $169/night. Does that mean I have a better chance of getting the Wynn if I place a lower bid?

Glad you were able to get a great room at the Wynn last time.

However, you are setting yourself up for disappointment if you are using PRICELINE to get a certain hotel. While the Wynn may have a lower rate than the Trump, that doesn't mean that you won't get the Trump (or a different hotel entirely) if you place a lower bid. Much like Vegas, PRICELINE is a gamble.

Would you be okay with something besides the Wynn or would getting a different property spoil the trip?

How many people will be in each room?

If you're trying to target, or avoid, a particular property, HOTWIRE may be a better option. It usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, but at least you can take an educated guess as to the property you'll likely receive (and with the case of avoiding the Trump, buy a HOTWIRE hotel which shows a Casino icon and you know it can't be that property)

I guess my friends would be OK with something other than Trump as long as it's not crazy expensive, but I've been bragging about how nice the Wynn is so I want them to enjoy it. There will be at most 2 people in each room.
