maya25 Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Hi there,I just signed up ....so i need some help as im new to this. I have been using Priceline.com for about a year now, mostly for leisure. Now I really am looking for an accomodation for a month starting the 28th of feb. ending 31st March. Just in between places before I settle in my condo, have a dog which complicates things even more cause I realize its hard to know/find a pet friendly hotel, especially through priceline. I have never used Hotwire.com......would anyone reccomend that for my situation. Does hotwire guarantee you stay at a hotel of your preference?I am just interested in the Residence Inn. I called the hotel personally and they said $119 a night for the month....and NO thats not going to happen lol. I have pricelined hotels for some long weekends and have had the Residece Inn. Im assuming it was because the stay was longer that three days:S not sure. Can anyone guide me. I cannot take a chance with my dog situation(they only charge $100) which is a one time charge for pet. The two locations im interested in are 7005 Century Avenue (Mississauga- ON) or Dixie/Eglinton.The residence inn at Century Avenue in Mississauga was beautiful and had a very spacious kitchen but the one at Dixie/Eglinton was less roomy with only two burners (stove).Could anyone guide me? Thanks so much!!
thereuare Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! The length of your stay exceeds both the maximum of PRICELINE (21 nites) and HOTWIRE (30 nites) in one transaction... so you're going to need to make two separate purchases either way.I am just interested in the Residence Inn... I cannot take a chance with my dog situation(they only charge $100) which is a one time charge for pet.You can't bid on a specific property so you're going to have to "give" someplace.. either expose yourself to some risk as to the hotel you're likely going to get OR pay a higher price than you could get thru an "opaque" purchase. If you need (as opposed to want) a specific property than PRICELINE and HOTWIRE are usually not the best way to go as you could receive something other than what you need. If you're willing to take some risk HOTWIRE is usually a better option in this type of situation since you can often take an educated guess as to the proerty you may received based upon the amenities shown before your purchase. You can see read more about the similarities and differences between PRICELINE and HOTWIRE in this I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire thread. How much is it that you are looking to spend per nite? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
