Hotwire Hotel: 3.5* Boston (Back Bay-Copley Square) Sheraton

We are planning a family trip to Boston in June, and were surprised at how expensive hotel rooms are. This has been a great site to help find decent hotel prices. However, as I'm traveling with an infant, I'd like to have a good chance of finding a hotel that is family-friendly and might have a in-room refrigerator available. This is my first time using HOTWIRE / PRICELINE.

Can you ID for 2 adults/1 kid June 4-June 8, 2009:

4*Back Bay/Copley customer favorite, smoke-free, fitness, pool, restaurant, biz center, hi-speed internet, spa for $195/night

or the

3.5*Back Bay/Copley smoke-free, fitness, pool, restaurant, biz center, hi-speed internet for $162/night?

I've seen bad reviews on the Intercontinental in terms of infant friendliness, no in-room refrigerator, difficulty warming baby foods. Any comments on that?

Thanks you so much for the assistance!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

The 4* is a match for the Westin while the 3.5* is a match for the Sheraton so that would be our best guess for each.

Not sure of your baby routine and what type of foods you need to warm, but we've been successful in the past using the in room coffee pot to make hot water, then put a bottle or baby food in there to warm it up. As well, we also used the ice bucket to keep a quart/gallon of milk cold each day, and found many hotel restaurants would give us milk at no charge when asked if we could buy a cup for the baby.

Also, don't know if you have another child in addition to the infant, but note that HOTWIRE defines "child" as age 2-17, so assuming your infant is under 2, technically you could search for 2adults/0children, which may yield different hotels (and lower rates since only double occupancy)... then just call the hotel beforehand to request a crib (if that's what you need)

I've tried to purchase the 4* property 3 times at various times at various prices. Each time I get a message that the itinerary is no longer available. Is that common?

After reading more on this site, I checked EasyClickTravel and found a nice deal on the Hilton Back Bay for $159/night and the Sheraton listing is less than the presumed HOTWIRE rate.

Is there a link I should follow from this site prior to purchasing from EasyClickTravel??

Thank you for all your help. After maybe 50 times trying to book the Westin - which I would have loved to try, despite the higher cost, the Sheraton came up for me at $109/night. I just couldn't pass that up. Amenities as listed above.

I did use your link to book through HOTWIRE.

My first HOTWIRE purchase -- I'm still feeling nervous!

Thanks!

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to see the rate dropped to a very attractive level and you took advantage of it... looks like a very nice deal for Boston.
