samk Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 wow...just got a price accepted for $120 a night plus taxes. i tried, periodically, over the last three days and to my surprise, it finally got accepted. the stay dates are from 2/28 to 3/4. btw, i also have the marriott friends and family certificate (which is usually 70% less than the rack rate and about 40% less than priceline) for which i was getting $200/night. this time priceline beat it. any suggestions on how to get the "best" room considering this is a priceline "room rate?"

gmc Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Hi, I stayed there last year for a week on a PRICELINE bid of $110. I called the front desk a week before arriving and chatted with them asking about the place. I then called the front desk again a the day before I arrived to confirm and talked a bit. When I arrived to check in the lady at the front desk knew me from our previous conversation. I pulled out my Marriott Rewards card and recieved an automatic upgrade. I then paid about $39/night for an extra upgrade to an oceanfront room by the north pool.I had a great time. I hope this info helps you. PS the staff there loves See's chocolates. :) gmc
