EmTee Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 A group of my friends are heading to Vegas in the end of the month (2/27 - 3/2). around 4 of us. We're looking to share one room and yup, bringing our air bed with us too. :) Anyway, thanks for all your these past few weeks. I've been referred to you by another forum. Here's my dilemma, I've been looking around for strips that's 4* and up at around $120/night. I was pretty much ready to bid on the Trump but then found out they charge resort fee and has mandatory valet. I'm looking into a place that's close to the strip and have have even settled with 3* as long as I could use the 20 tip at check in. The rates are within my target but not exactly what I'd want.Trump - resort and valet chargeRed Rock - resort feeGrandview - resort feeSouth Point - too far from strip/charges internetCircus Circus - too kid friendly, we're college students.Excalibur - not my preference/ might be too small for 4 peopleThe rest are condos and suites where I could not find any records of for me to make informed decisions4.5* hotel in Near Strip East (this one might be over budget)Resort, Suite, Casino, Smoke-free, Pool, Restaurant, Biz Ctr, Kitchen, Spa3.5* condo in Near Strip East Condo, Kitchen, A/C, Laundry, Fitness, Pool, 24hr Front Desk, Internet3.5* hotel in West of StripSmoke-free, Comp Breakfast, Fitness, Pool, Biz Ctr, Laundry, Golf, Tennis, Kitchen3* hotel in Near Strip East Comp Breakfast, Fitness, Pool, Laundry, Internet3-star hotel in Near Strip West Comp Breakfast, Fitness, Biz Ctr, Pool, Laundry, InternetI am open to other alternatives too. Thanks

EmTee Posted February 17, 2009 Author Report Posted February 17, 2009 I'm looking at paying no more than $129/night. Looking into double occupancy but after you said quad, i found Stratosphere. It has a resort fee though. I'm sticking to my word, not going support resort fee places. By the way, how can I edit the title of this thread?
thereuare Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 How about MGM Grand for $125/nite? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
EmTee Posted February 18, 2009 Author Report Posted February 18, 2009 hmmm... that's enticing. How'd you get the price?
thereuare Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Actually i was looking for 6 nites earlier... 3 nites is $169/nite. Sorry about that. However, i did just find this (and i only found it thru a mistake in your dates):You can get Ballys HERE (please use this link) for just $97/nite which is something you may also want to consider. If you search for 2/27-3/2 the rate is $150/nite, but increasing your search an extra nite to 2/27-3/3 initiates a 25% discount on a 4 nite stay, bringing the cost down to $97/nite. The terms on the booking page state:Once you've checked-in, changes or early departures are non-refundable.so obviously you won't get a refund for not staying the 4th nite... but they shouldn't be able to revert back to the previous price either. As well, assuming you intend to stay the afternoon after the 3rd nite, you can check-out late in the day and just state that you knew check-out was 11am (or noon, whatever time it was) and you wanted a place to keep your luggage and/or shower, nap, etc before your flight later in the evening. Nobody will question it, but there's your story in case somebody does.Would this work for your needs? Please use OUR LINK if you book this Ballys deal. EmTee Posted February 18, 2009 Author Report Posted February 18, 2009 The last of us will be leaving in the morning on 3/2. Some of us are flying in and some are driving. Two of us will arrive on the 26th and since we'll be landing in Vegas at around 11:30pm, we're considering staying up all night or find a place that's like $20. But if we can find a worthwhile deal, we'll book 4 nights with one hotel starting on the 26th.By the way, the "OUR LINK" you asked me to use didn't work.
thereuare Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Fixed OUR LINKYou can book Ballys for 2/26-3/2 for $117/nite and not be homeless on 2/26... or book the previous way, 2/27-3/3 for $97 adn just check-out early (this way still comes in $1 more than your $129/nite budget for 3 nites) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

EmTee Posted March 8, 2009 Author Report Posted March 8, 2009 Here's a follow up on the place. Luckily we didn't pay much and was only there to sleep for 3 hours on our first night. It's not worth staying there for an extended amount of time. The "Courtyard" is where you want to AVOID if you're staying at the Palace Station. Since we barely had any sleep, it was not that welcoming when workers started sawing and drilling outside. You can hear people talking and slamming the door outside also. It was fine for what we paid for and our needs at the time. I would give this a 2* or below. Also, be careful, all Station hotels charge a "resort" fee.
