amaranth Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Hi Priceline Experts,I'm new to PRICELINE and I would greatly appreciate some bidding advice. I will be visiting the bay area from 3/9 - 3/13 and I intend to stay somewhere near SFO. I'm looking at a 3* and above hotel, and I hope to get a room for under $70 if possible. I do not intend to rent a car, so it is essential that the hotel provides (frequent) shuttles to the airport. Thanks for your help!CS

amaranth Posted February 17, 2009 Author Report Posted February 17, 2009 Yes my ultimate goal is to get to the airport so I can catch the BART. Sorry for the confusion. Basically I'm looking for a hotel in the bay area near public transportation so I don't have to rent a car. Thanks!
thereuare Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 Wouldn't one of the Downtown zones and/or Fishermans Wharf zone work better for this and avoid the need to take the airport shuttle everything you wanted to head out? (although admittedly i don't know the mass transit system in San Francisco, but do know it's quite good... would you be assured of mass transit anywhere wtihin the boundaries of the downtown and/or fishermans wharf zone? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. amaranth Posted February 17, 2009 Author Report Posted February 17, 2009 Thanks for the replies!Fisherman's Wharf isn't as convenient since there's no BART access there and requires changing to the Muni or buses, which would be rather inconvenient for luggage. Perhaps Downtown would be convenient but it is also much more expensive as I see from the winning bids.Anyhow, I managed to win the 4* Sheraton SFO Gateway for my dates for $59 a night ($67.50 all in). This forum was a great help in gauging the prices. Thanks!
