spainflyer Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Hotwire is currently showing a 4.5 star in the Boston Common - Theatre District for $189. No 4.5 stars in this area shown on the pinned list. Nor are there any 4.5s in the contiguous Back Bay - Copley district that might have been re-zoned. Seems unlikely that this would be the Hyatt Regency Financial with a 1/2 star upgrade, as this hotel was recently upgraded from 3.5 stars. Anyone have any ideas?

spainflyer Posted February 14, 2009 Author Report Posted February 14, 2009 Hotwire showing, in this order, Fitness, Restaurant, High Speed Internet and then -- get this -- Golf nearby and Tennis nearby. And for HOTWIRE nearby means within walking distance. This must be an error for the golf, don't know about the tennis. Nearest golf course must be The Country Club, Brookline and I'm not sure HOTWIRE has access! Any ideas what all this is about?
thereuare Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 And for HOTWIRE nearby means within walking distance. It doens't mean "walking distance"... if you read the description of the Golf amenity HOTWIRE currently shows the following:Golf NearbyProperty is located within walking distance or a short drive of at least one golf course; an extra charge typically applies.(bold italics added by me)The 4.5* property above has not yet been identified, but their is a 4.5* in the Quincy Market-Financial District zone for just $119/nite (which would be some substantial savings vs. the above for an 8 nite stay) which matches both the Intern-Continental and the Langham so either of these would be our best guess, and both get very good reviews which you can see HERE and HERE. Would a 4.5* property in this zone work for your plans? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. rafimo Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 Any update on this 4.5* hotel in the Boston Common/Theater District. Do you think that perhaps it is the Taj Hotel? The Taj is coming up as a 5* on Priceline. My reasoning is as follows, Priceline just started offering a 5* hotel (which we've recently identified as The Taj) and by coincidence, Hotwire if offering a 4.5* in this same area. The Taj is a great hotel but imho not in the same category as true 5* hotels such ashe Four Seasons and The Ritz. Thanks.
pickles1107 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 I also have been thinking this is the Taj as well...
timboston Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 Any Update on this one? Is it in fact the Taj?
spainflyer Posted September 9, 2014 Author Report Posted September 9, 2014 Brief follow up, years late. In this case I did not use Hotwire for my Boston hotel. I assume I used Priceline NYOP but they cannot find trips this far back. Sorry!
