I think this one is new to hotwire.

I think we lucked out for this price downtown but the reviews are mixed on this one because it's new and has service issues, but it is Doubletree so I'll keep you posted!

Doubletree Guest Suites Fort Shelby/Detroit Downtown

Amenities: Fitness Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Restaurant, Golf Nearby, Business Center

$55, $68 after taxes

Let me know if I left something out that I'm supposed to post. Another website says it has a free shuttle within 2 miles, which could come in handy in downtown detroit, but I'll let you know.

This hotel was similar to what I saw in other reviews. Not up to par for a Doubletree but still really good.

The hotel itself was great. The rooms were spacious the bed was comfortable, the amenities were good brands, the lobby was nice... Everything was good there. I don't think the staff had the concept of the doubletree name down. I have always had GREAT experiences with Doubletree. However, in this case, the shuttle was down, at one point there was only 1 valet working and a long wait. The room service ended at midnight even though there was a late night room service menu, and staff was confused, (i.e. "My menu says we close at 11, I don't know why yours says there's a late night menu. That's weird.") If we had a problem, the staff was very pleasant in telling us "Sorry to hear that." but did not attempt to offer any solution.

Overall though, it was worth what we paid, but not much more than that...
