Hotwire Hotel: 3* Gulfport-Long Beach Ramada Inn

I booked this room for 1 night (2/28) departing on (3/1)

The description was this:

3* (Gulfport/Longbeach)

Amenities:

Airport Shuttle

Fitness Center

Pool

Restaurant

Laundry

the rate was $75 plus tax ended up being $89.34

With the amenities I had it narrowed down to either the Ramada or Courtyard by Marriot. I figured it was the courtyard since the going rate for the Ramada is $10+ cheaper than Hotwire's price.

I guess I will not be using hotwire anymore since I was overcharged for this hotel. I thought the point of hotwire was to get rooms cheaper.

Sorry to hear your disappointed with the results.

As you now know, you can't use the lowest retail price of hotels to determine what you will get thru either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE.

However, HOTWIRE has a "Double the Difference" Guarantee and since you found a lower price for this property (before taxes and fees) than your HOTWIRE rate you can contact HOTWIRE to process a claim... if approved you'll get back twice the difference between the $75 you paid and the current rate that you're making a claim against.

I did not know about the price difference thing. I will try that.

I'm happy with the hotel selection.. just didn't like that I felt I was paying more than the ramada website.

You have to make your claim within 48 of your HOTWIRE purchase... so make sure you do it asap.
