vanclan Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 I would like to obtain a room in the Toronto airport area on February 19-22 I considered 3.5 but the only win listed is the Marriot. The disadvantages of the Marriot $18.oo parking and fee for internet in room) seem to weigh against it. So my question. Has anyone recently bid or won a 3* in this area? My only desire is for a nice hotel with possibly a pool/hottub. Most of the 3 stars seem to qualify for this. Any help would definitely be appreciated.
thereuare Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 If you enter "Toronto Airport" or "YYZ" (without the quotes) in the QUICK SEARCH box in the blue banner at the top of the board to see all recent wins for this area.Do keep in mind that when you select a minimum star rating with PRICELINE it's the minimum you're willing to accept, so you could be upgrded to a 3.5* (or higher) hotel on your 3* bid. As well, if there is a specific amenity you are looking for HOTWIRE may be a better option... it may cost a little more but you know beforehand if it has the amenities you're seeking, and if you're able to identify the property beforehand, you can figure out your true total cost by determing any parking and/or internet charges before your purchase.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. vanclan Posted February 12, 2009 Author Report Posted February 12, 2009 Bid $32.00 received a counter bid of an additional $8.00 Tried to counter bid 1/2 of that ($4.00) (which I thought I had done successfully before, but it continued to ask for a counter bid of $8.00 and wouldn't let me proceed without at least that amount! Counrtyar by marriot Mississauga Airport Corporate Center West 5050 Creekbank Road Mississauga$40.00 per night x 3 nights $120.00Service charge/tax 24.51Total $144.51 US DollarsUsed better bidding PRICELINE link to make the bookingThanks for all your previous help.....got the hotel I had hoped for at a good price! PS I had never used your search engine before...it is a great help!
thereuare Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Glad to hear you received the hotel you wanted and at a great price. If you want to try to undercut PRICELINE's counter-offer you need to add a re-bid zone (Priceline Re-Bidding Explained), they won't let you enter an amount less than they suggest without changing any other criteria.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICLINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.PS I had never used your search engine before...it is a great help!thanks for noticing... i think the search function, and the QUICK SEARCH in the blue banner at the top of the board, are severly underutilized, but they work extremely well Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
