thereuare Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! Are you still seeing this property for your dates above as the 4* hotel in this zone i'm seeing when searching for your dates is over $200 and has different amenities than the above. If you are still seeing this property, are you searching for more than one room or for more than the defaults 2adults/0chidren?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. slinky Posted February 12, 2009 Author Report Posted February 12, 2009 It was for 2 beds. It is now $249. Thank you for checking it.I'm interested in another hotel: 3-star hotel in South of the Mall $126 per nightFitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Would this be the Holiday Inn Capitol?
thereuare Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 It was for 2 beds. You can't search for two beds... are you searching for two adults? Do you need two beds? Also, are you familiar with DC and know that the South of Mall zone will work well for your needs... it's not a very popular zone and isn't purchased very often, and if you were looking last nite at the Dupont Circle zone, i'd hate to see you jump to a less desirable zone with 2 months to go before your stay. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. slinky Posted February 12, 2009 Author Report Posted February 12, 2009 Thereuare,Thank you for your input. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Capital twice and it about a block form the Smithsonian and near the Mall so it is convenient.Do rates typically get lower as you get closer to the dates you need?We would need a second bed for our kids. Is that done directly with the hotel after the room has been booked?Thank you again for your help. This site is great.
thereuare Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Do rates typically get lower as you get closer to the dates you need?HOTWIRE guarantees sleeping accomodations for each person that you include in your search. You don't say how many kids you have, but if you need quad occupancy then you need to search for 2adults/2children to insure a 2nd bed in the room (although the "second bed" could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway, etc) Note that searching for quad occupancy vs. double occupancy can often bring about a different set of hotels offered, as well, the price may increase too. If you search HOTWIRE for 2adults/2chidren do any of the hotels above still apear? Are they still within your budget? Some who need quad occupancy do search for double ocucpancy (or use PRICELINE which only guarnatees double occupancy with no way to search for more than that) and call the hotel afterwards with their requests. Sometimes the hotel will honor the request, sometimes not, sometimes only with an additional fee, etc, etc... a lot depends upon the hotel received, occupancy levels, the percent of rooms they have with two beds, etc, etc. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
