Priceline Hotel: Orlando (WDW)

Looking at coming down with the family.

Would like to use priceline, however, with this economy, do you think there is a better way to get a better rate in advance?

I know that for many years, Orlando has been giving FL resident rates. That has bugged me since I most certainly do not get a better rate in the city that I live and so I am starting to call hotels on it.

I have been trying to see if the Hilton would go for 100 a night off the bat now, but they said no, and given this economy, my price is only getting lower. I have seen priceline for this hotel go around 60-80 and others for about the same, however, my question is should priceline's rates be even lower.

Take a look at some of the wins on the board for future dates and compare them against a conventionally booked room at the property received for the same dates... i think you'll find that PRICELINE and HOTWIRE still offer the best value out there. (if you're flexible in your plans and don't need a specific hotel)

Thanks. So if that is the case, when is the best time to start bidding for May. I also notice two new 4*'s added in the last few months. I wonder if this economy will result in more product coming on line through PRICELINE?

The idea is to start bidding once your plans are firm... but make sure you don't overbid. See the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ for a further discussion.

We're already seeing new hotels coming onboard and participating with PRICELINE and HOTWIRE, in an attempt to sell rooms which would otherwise go unsold.
