Diegojaimovich Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Hi!I will be in nyc from april 20 to april 26.I am looking for a four stars hotel in cps or midtown west.I would like to spend around $125 a night through priceline.I already offered up to $115 but without succes.Sugestions??Thanks a lot!!
thereuare Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!First question is why are you restricting yoru bidding ot only CPS and MTW... do you have plans for which you can only be in these two zones, do you think these will simply be the most convenient, or are there properties you're trying to avoid in other zone(s)?Are you familiar with and/or been to NYC before? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Diegojaimovich Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 Thanks for your answer.I am going to go to the lincoln center every night, that s why i selected this two zones.I ve seen too that priceline is working with two 4 stars hotels there ( parker meridien and hilton), i already know them and i would love to stay there again.Do you think around $120 a night is enough?Sugestions ?Thanks again!Pd. In your hotwire list you put The Plaza... Do you know if they are still working with it?
thereuare Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 I ve seen too that priceline is working with two 4 stars hotels there ( parker meridien and hilton), i already know them and i would love to stay there again.Between the MTW and CPS zones there are many more than just these two properties.Chances are you'll be a taxi subway ride away from Lincoln Centre, so pretty much anything near the #1 train would likely work out well for your needs, so it would appear that the Times Square area would work out very well for you too since the zone is small and the 1 train runs right thru the middle of the zone (and would likely work out better than some parts of MTW and CPS)I'm not sure if $120 will be enough if only including those two zones, but it's certainly possible... do you want to stick with just these two zones or add TS too? Let us know, we'll suggest a strategy to follow, and we'll take it from there. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Diegojaimovich Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 Thanks again for your answer.I would prefer to stay only in CPS or MTW.And only in 4 stars hotels through your PRICELINE link. What are your sugestions?Diego
thereuare Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 At the 4* level in NYC you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Slect 4* MTW and CPS...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Diegojaimovich Posted February 14, 2009 Author Report Posted February 14, 2009 Thanks a lot for your answer.I took your suggestion.I already offered PRICELINE through yout link bidding five by five up to $140.But all the bids were rejected. What do you suggest?Diego
thereuare Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 Your choices come down to:-wait it out and try again-SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID-raise your budget-lower your star rating-add other zonesAs stated above i do think there are other zones which will work for needs, but you have plenty of time so if you prefer to just stick it out and hope something opens up in the above two zones you're welcome to go that route as well. Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.Let us know how yo'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.
