Priceline Hotel: 4* NYC (MTE) Grand Hyatt

Trying to decide between MTE and MTW, 4*. Probably doesn't really matter. I was leaning toward MTW (have stayed here at the Hilton before thanks to Pline), but also liked the idea of being closer to Grand Central in MTE, plus it would be fun to win a different hotel! Here are some sample rates that I have found today:

MTW: (bid last night to $95, no luck, was not ready to try for $110 just yet)

Hilton NY $169 (recent winning bid of $110 has a rate today of $189 for the same dates as the winning bid)

MTE: (bid to $100 today, no luck, stopped there)

Grand Hyatt $249 (recent winning bid of $106 has a rate today of $181 for the same dates as the winning bid)

Omni Berkshire $249 (recent winning bid of $99 has a rate today of $180 for the same dates as the winning bid)

So judging by the current rates and the latest good winning bids, does it look like my best chance for the best deal is to go for MTW up to $110? If the rate at the Hilton NY, for example (yes I know there is no way to guess which hotel I will receive on Pline!), is so low at $169, I was hoping that there would possibly be a win at least as low as $110 (and maybe less, to make it a better deal after the fees).

So I would like to keep it under $110, preferably less. I am very familiar with free rebids and the permutation method of bidding (but not sure all those bids are worth saving a buck...). Dates are Feb 19-21, I can wait but would like to get a win soon. Should I just try for MTW $110 and hope for an acceptance somewhere? Or maybe MTE and MTW together (since they both have the same free rebid zones) up to $105 first? I think I am overthinking all this, but I never get to go anywhere so I am very excited about this. :) Thanks!

If you're looking for the lowest possible price in either zone i would bid both together and then add your re-bid zones.

With 5 re-bid zones i would bid something like this:

Select 4* MTE and MTW...

Bid $90, if rjeected add re-bid zone...

Bid $95, if rjeected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100, if rjeected add re-bid zone...

Bid $103, if rjeected add re-bid zone...

Bid $106, if rjeected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100.

Of course if you have a preference of one zone over the other then you would want to bid them separately.

Decided to try for MTE alone first.

Started with $99, rejected, asked me to up my bid by $22.

Free rebid $100 rejected

Free rebid $105 accepted, Grand Hyatt!

The rates for those nights are $259/$239, seems like a great deal, less than half.

Bid through your PRICELINE link, thanks!

Also wanted to add that taxes and fees were $22.96/night for that win at $105.
