Priceline Hotel: 4* Las Vegas (Strip South) Luxor

I'll be in Vegas 2/12-2/15 and read the tip here about splitting the bids. I originally was bidding $75 all the way up to $150 for each night and not getting an offer, but once I broke the dates down to the 12-15, I was able to start bidding at $65 then $75 a night for a 4 star in the South Strip, with $75 being accepted at the Luxor.

My question is, historically, is it possible to get a 4+ star hotel (even 3*) in the North or preferably, South strip for under $150 during a holiday? I still need to book a room for the 14th and haven't been able to find anything under $200. I've bid $75 up to $150 for 3, 4, and 5* in both zones. Do the rates get lower as the date gets closer, or should I just suck it up and pay the higher prices?

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Yes it's possible, but it's all based upon current occupancy and expected occupancy. We recently saw many Valentine's Day wins for 4* and 5* hotels at very reasonable prices, but perhaps they've all been filled at the moment. One aspect working against you at this point is that some hotels in Vegas don't allow Saturday check-in (although many may also have loosened this restriction based upon the current economy there)
