MichiganFan Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 I want to bid on Priceline for a hotel in Los Gatos, CA, for early April. They list hotels from 2-4 stars. The 4 star hotel is probably Hotel Los Gatos, which is too expensive for us. I'd be very happy with the Toll House, but I'm not sure whether it's a 2 1/2, 3, or 3 1/2 stars. Any suggestions for bidding?
thereuare Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 You can use the "retail" side of PRICELINE to see most current rating for the LOS GATOS. (the "opaque" and "retail" service each use a different pool of hotels, but there is a LOT of overlap, so no guarantees that this property is even offered thru the "name your own price" side of the service or that the star rating would be the same for each (although it's highly likely that they are))I'll add that while it's ok to try to hope for specific properties, i would be very careful about using PRICELINE with the intention of receiving a specific property... it leaves a lot of room for potential disappointment. However, if what you want is a great deal on a nice hotel, the savings can be phenominal.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and your maximum bid and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
