Hi,

I am new to Priceline bidding and was looking for some help on acquiring a 4* hotel in midtown east / west or times square area for 1 night (Feb. 20th).

The room is for 1 adult. I was wondering what should my bidding strategy be seeing that it is in 2 weeks and what initial bids I should place. Ideally I would like to get something like the W Hotel for $120.

Cheers,

Rohit

Welcome to BetterBidding!

You can't bid on "something like the W Hotel"... you can only bid on the star quality and it may not be a boutiqe-y hotel similar to the W brand. Are you willing to accept any 4* hotel in the zone(s) that you choose?

Alternately what appears to be the Omni Berkshire is available for $119/nite if that interests you at all.

Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.

Hello,

Yes I see now that I cannot really select hotels, so I guess I am open to hotels in those regions. The only reason I selected those regions is because of the past hotels that have been there. I have lived in Manhattan before so I know you can get anywhere pretty easily on the island.

I am just looking for a really classy or chic hotel for the night, hence aiming for 4*. As noted, my budget is $120 but ideally I would like to sit around $100.

Thanks.

At the 4* level you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* MTE and MTW and Times Square...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115.

If the abve is rejected go to HOTWIRE and purchase the $119/nite 4* MTE hotel.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
