Maeva Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Hi!I might be going to the Miami Bellydance Convention from Sept. 4th to 7th. All the workshops & shows are at the Intercontinental hotel, located downtown. If I book directly from the Convention website, it would cost me $115/night. If I am with someone that would be fine but I might be flying solo so I'm trying to lower the costs. How low should I start bidding with Priceline?I know there is another 4* hotel located downtown (the Hyatt), but how close is it to the Intercontinental? I looked on Google Maps and I believe it's about 5 minutes by bus, but I'd rather walk. Anyone know if it's possible? Or is it unsafe/too far? I am also open to any other 3* or even 2.5* located downtown, and not too far from the Intercontinental. Also, if I can get the Hyatt for $70 a night, I don't mind paying a little more in cabs during my stay there.I will probably be staying for a week, to relax and do some shopping too. Which hotel would be the best for this? When should I start bidding?Any help would be highly appreciated, since I am flying from Montreal and I might be alone lost in Miami, hah. :) Thanks :)(Right now I'm thinking about booking a 2* hotel on Easy Click Travel for 37$/night that's 5 a minute walk from the Intercontinental... hmmm)

Maeva Posted February 11, 2010 Author Report Posted February 11, 2010 Totally forgot to follow up on this one!I booked the Intercontinental via Easy Click Travel for around $100-110/night (unsure, cause account shows total for the entire stay... and that includes taxes & fees) from Sept. 2nd to Sept. 8th.
