Lofland Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 I've enjoyed spectating on this forum for years. Reading these bids is like looking at box scores or the racing form. I finally made my first bid today. The Westchase bidding area is so small it reduced my uncertainty in bidding quite a bit. Unfortunately, I acted like a noob and just matched a winning bid for this area on an earlier post. My $40 bid was accepted immediately. In the future I will see how low they will go for this star rating and bidding area. It's annoying to think I might have left $5 or $10 on the table. This is still a good deal, though; I've stayed at this hotel numerous times and paid $90 a night. For those who haven't, the hotel is hard to find since it's off the road and the sign for it is small. The best way to find it is to look for the Kroger grocery store next to it. You have drive past the grocery store to get to to the hotel. They have a nice hot buffet breakfast and a large common area in the lobby with a flat-screen TV. Having a big grocery store a few steps from the hotel is a big convenience.Room rate: $40Fees: $14.01Total room cost: $54.01Sorry! In my haste to bid, I forgot to use the PRICELINE link here. I promise I'll do it next time. Some day, I'm going to "go for the gold" and try for one of those $99 nights at the Venetian! This site is awesome. I bet if you totalled up all the money you've saved people, it could hit the $millions!
