getaway2
Appreciate the reply. 100.00 would be nice. Water Taxi location would be convenient but not needed - clean - decent place to stay w/some basic need stores around would be perfect. Link to comment
thereuare
The HOTWIRE hotel above is a match for the Sheraton Yankee Clipper so that would be our best guess.Does this work for your needs or did you want to try PRICELINE? thereuare
Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. The Ft Lauderdale North property above is a match for the Westin so that would be our best guess. (NOTE: if you aren't renting a car, this property/zone is about 10-15 miles from the cruise port, so a taxi may be a larger than expected expense)In regards to use PRICELINE vs. HOTWIRE, it depends what you're looking for...PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE (so i wouldn't bid $100 since you'd be wanting to get some savings vs. the HOTWIRE rate... and you would want to create a strategic bidding strategy) but offers no ability to take an educated guess as to what you may receive before your purchase nor any indication of the amenities that the hotel offers. HOTWIRE on the other hand gives you the ability to take an educated guess as to the property as well as know the amenities offered beforehand (ie- if you want a hotel with a pool you can choose one with a Pool icon)... but this 'perk' comes with a slightly additional cost vs. PRICELINE.You can read more about the differences and similiarities of the two services here: I've Never Used Priceline or HotwireFeel free to ask any questions you have and/or how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. getaway2
AGAIN, I appreciate your help.Greatest request is clean, reasonable priced (100.00 + taxes would be great), near grocery-liquor store & reasonable walk to water taxi would be fantastic.Read the Priceline suggestions & came upon advice given to previous traveler - would you suggest I do the same to possibly obtain hotel w/items we prefer? At the 4* level you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 4* Beach and Downtown...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone5...Bid $100, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE Link to comment
thereuare
The issue with using PRICELINE is that you are subject to any hotel in the zone at the minimum star rating (or higher) that you select. Therefore, you won't be able to determine before your purchase if the hotel is likely near a liquor store and/or the water taxi.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
getaway2
Believe we will give PRICELINE a try - trying to determine appropriate area/zone for bidding - would love the Grande Hotel or Embassy Suites - is this considered Downtown Area 2 or possibly Beach Area 5?Again - thanks Link to comment
thereuare
You can see the hotels within each zone (as of last report) in the Hotwire Hotel List... i believe it's the Downtown zone that you're looking for, but you should confirm this on your own. However, i'll note that the Embassy Suites has not been seen for a very long time. If you enter "Lauderdale Downtown" (without the quotes) in the QUICK SEARCH box at the top of the board in the blue banner you can see all recently reported wins to get a feel for which hotels have been coming up most recently.Let us know which zone(s) you're willing to accept, and your maximum bid and minimum star rating, and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
