Appraiser Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 I am looking at the Overland Park area and Hotwire lists 3 hits with a room rate of $39 per night for 2/9 thru 2/11. I have never used Hotwire and was curious as to what these rooms might be. Is a 3* on Hotwire comparable to a 3.5* or 4* on Priceline. There seems to be a difference in how they grade them by reading their websites. I have stayed at Priceline's 3.5 and 4 and they were fine. Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.
Appraiser Posted February 6, 2009 Author Report Posted February 6, 2009 A little more information: Your HOTWIRE link shows a 3* with Comp Breakfast, Fitness, and Laundry. The 2.5* lists Fitness, Laundry, Highspeed Internet, and Kitchenette. Both of these are the same price at $39.00 per night. Does anyone know which Hotels these might be? I must admit I am a little concerned considering the price. If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is, and this price justs seems a little low for a nice place,, so I am open to those of you who have used these companies. Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions.
thereuare Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Niether of the above have been identified. If i were to take a guess i think the 2.5* may be the La Quinta... another possibility would be the Ramada.I would probably stay away from the 2*, but a guess there would be the Extended Stay Deluxe. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide or if we can be of further help. Appraiser Posted February 6, 2009 Author Report Posted February 6, 2009 Thanks for your help. There is one motel that I "do not" want to stay at because of numerous bad reviews I have read so I will probably be bidding thru PRICELINE and avoiding that whole area or Star Rating. When I do, I will do a new posting in the Priceline forum if I am sucessful.
