HOTWIRE customer service told me that they will send someone to this property to reevaluate star rating. Hope they will do something about it soon.
thereuare Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Thanks for the additional post sharing your previous win with the board.Sorry to hear this property didn't live up to its star rating. Most La Quinta had been 2.5* and at a recent revamping of the star rating system many were upgraded to 3*... and this chain at the 3* level may be one of the bigger "surprises" people have when using HOTWIRE. Often when a user complains of the star rating i try to take a quick look and typically find numeroous booking sites that rate the property the same as HOTWIRE, but indeed for this property, most are 2* and 2.5*. If you don't hear from HOTWIRE within 2-3 weeks i would give them a call to follow-up to see if they have adjusted the star rating on this property downward (if they do you will likely receive a refund of all or part of your purchase in the form of HotDollars to use on your next purchase)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated. ddddmike Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 I just stayed there on 2/10 - 2/12. It's actually quite good, for what it is, which is a motel. They have a continental breakfast which includes (cold) hard-boiled eggs, and someone there to make you a hot waffle (with a waffle maker) if you want. They also have free internet, and two PC's in the lobby to use for free, if you want. The bed was comfortable and the room was plenty large enough, with good-sized frig and microwave. Very easy access to the 55 freeway. HOTWIRE does them a disservice by giving them a 3* rating, that's all. If they left it at 2.5*, everyone would be happy with their stay and the value in general.
