homeschoolmom
This was a last minute "night-before" bid for our second week in D.C. Previous week was impossible to win with a reasonable bid in Arlington, VA or DC. The Hyatt CH was just finishing up a major lobby remodel. We got a nice room on the concierge level (alas no privileges). Room was well-appointed, but be aware shower is quite small (and I am a petite woman of average weight!). Location is wonderful, near Union Station and the Capitol, of course, also a short walk to the Supreme Court and Smithsonians. Downside: fire station across the street meant that we were treated to several wake-up alarms in the middle of the night (cotton balls are in the bathroom amenity kit-- use them!). Staff was great; impressive concierge and terrific housekeeping! Small lap pool and nice workout area. Be prepared for a major parking fee (don't recall what it was-- we were dropped off and then my hubby parked on the metered street spots on the weekend).Hyatt Regency Washington D.C.
