Maknmny Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Hi,I'm planning to go to NIagara Falls, NY on February 27, leaving March 1, 2009 ( 2 night stay). I'm trying to decipher the Hotwire Hotel listed for $59.00 (3*) with the following amenities... Fitness, Pool, Retaurant, Laundry, Highspeed Internet AND "LOWEST PRICE GUARANTEE". The search was conducted with 2 adults. I believe and hope this hotel to be the Crown Plaza, however I also believe it could be the Holiday Inn, which I don't want. Further, when I change the search request to 2 Adults AND 2 children it now gives the "BEST VALUE" symbol as well as the amenities listed above. Therefore, I'm looking for your input to determine which hotel you believe has Best Value and Lowest Price, and which hotel it is with just Lowest Price with the identical amenities! I'm really hoping to land the Crowne Plaza. THanks,Maknmny
thereuare Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 There is a good chance both hotels on each search are the same...The "Best Value" icon is not assigned to a hotel, but rather it comes/goes from search to sarch based upon the other offerings shown. When you increase to quad occupancy some hotels go up in price, this one does not, which is probably why this one becomes a better value relative to the other offerings when searching for quad occupancy, which is why the "Best Value" designation only appears when you're searching for quad occupancy. With the above noted, the Crowne Plaza and the Holiday Inn have been reported with the same amenities, and with no additional clues offered up by HOTWIRE for this listing, there is no way to tell which one you're currently being offered. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Maknmny Posted February 19, 2009 Author Report Posted February 19, 2009 Ended up getting the Holiday Inn Downtown Scenic View. This was for $54.00 a night on Hotwire. Booked 2 rooms for 4 Adults. February 27 - March 1st. (Two Nights) Not the hotel I wanted, but will comment on the amenities etc., on my return. I really wanted the Crowne Plaza, which I've stayed at before.
thereuare Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Sorry you didn't get the hotel you were hoping for, but as noted above, there was no way to differentiate between these two properties, so you need to have been willing to accept either to move forward with HOTWIRE.On a positive note the reviews of this property are pretty good, so hopefully it you'll have a good stay and it will be better than expected. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. yqq990 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 The Holiday Inn just opened in 2008 (it was a massive renovation of the Four Points-Sheraton), and is only about two blocks from the Crowne. I'm sure it'll be fine.
