beavers Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Bidded on Priceline (using the PRICELINE link on this forum) for a hotel in Quebec City. Aimed for Hilton (I used to get it for CAN$80 in summer exclude the parking and no wireless internet) 1st bid: $65 and 4* - rejected2nd bid: $71 and 3.5* - rejected3rd bid: $77 and 3* and select other zone - ste foy - best western acceptedBidded 2 rooms for my friend 1st, and then bidded 3 rms for myself and we both got the same priceRoom Cost (avg. per room, per night): $77.00 (USD)Number of Rooms: 3Number of Nights: 1Room Subtotal: $231.00 (USD)Taxes and Fees: $50.28 (USD)Total Room Cost: $281.28 (USD)BW has free wireless internet but with valet parking. but it says that the hotel is 1 ~ 0.5km walking distance to all the tourist attraction sites but walking in the snow and cold and steep hill. We would opt for public transportation.I think the price is pretty high because there will be an international snow sculpture tournament on 7th of Feb and since we were bidding pretty late, we didnt get the hotel that we wanted (Hilton is a very strategic place although the valet service is suck). I checked BW website and the 2 Queen size room for a night in USD is $194 and 2nd rm would be $154. We pretty much strike a good deal. :) Thanks Priceline forum, rgds, beavers
