gottagetta Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 I'm looking for a bid price on Priceline for one night in Orlando, either Disney World or Universal Studios area. What's a reasonal price for 4* or 3.5 *? Will I have less of a chance to get a good rate because I'm only looking for one night? Thanks in advance.Forgot to mention dates. It's for April 16th, one night.
gottagetta Posted February 3, 2009 Author Report Posted February 3, 2009 I did a search using the BB PRICELINE link to try and find a 3-4* hotel in Orlando for the dates above. I didn't see anything under $100. Anyone know if it's possible to get a 3-4 star under $100/night?
thereuare Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 It sounds as if you're looking at the "retail" version of PRICELINE where they show you the name of the hotel and the price... you can almost certainly beat this using the "name your own price" version of PRICELINE, but you wont' know which hotel you will receive until after your purchase is confirmed. If you're new to PRICELINE see this thread: I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire. If you want to move forward in bidding for a hotel, what is your maximum bid? Did you want to try for the highest rated hotel you can get up to your limit OR is your goal the least expensive 3* (or 3.5*) or better hotel for this stay?Let us know the above and we'lll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. gottagetta Posted February 3, 2009 Author Report Posted February 3, 2009 I just tried bidding for a hotel using the BB link for PRICELINE and got rejected. Bid price was $40/night for a 3 star in the Universal Studio area. We're willing to go with a 3 star or 3.5 star. I'd like to see if we can get it for under $45.
thereuare Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Before bidding again i'd suggest taking a step backwards and developing a gameplan besides just "throwing a bid" out there and then figuring out your next move if it's rejected...Do you have a preference of the Universal zone vs. the WDW zone? (in your first post you stated either was acceptable but above you only bid the Universal zone) Are you willing to pay more for a 3.5* vs. a 3* or are you looking for the least acceptable 3* or better in any of your acceptable zone(s)?Are you familiar with re-bidding? (see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained)Let us know the above and we'll suggest a systematic strategy for you to follow. Thanks for using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding. gottagetta Posted February 5, 2009 Author Report Posted February 5, 2009 I think we're okay with a 3* in the an area close to the theme parks in Orlando. Either WDW or Universal or some other area that is central. 3.5* would be nice but I think we'll go as low as a 3*. We're just looking for the best possible price. Thanks.
thereuare Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 3.5* would be nice but I think we'll go as low as a 3*You need to be a bit clearer how you'd like to proceed...Choice #1You can first bid for a 3.5* up to your limit and if that is rejected then try for a 3*Choice #2Try for a 3* up to your limitLet us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
