thereuare Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! Are you willing to bid high than $120 for a Resort? If so, why not just wait out the 24 hours and try again? (although i think you can bid better than you had... let us know your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy for your to follow)If $120 is your maximum bid and you want to now try for a 4* hotel (instead of a Resort)?? If this the approach you want to take let us know which zone(s) you're willing to accept and your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 At the Resort level you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select Resort Waikiki Beach...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $115, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect Resort Waikiki Beach and re-bid zone5...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $123, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $128, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $130Any question feel free to ask. Thanks for using our PRICELINE links to begin your bidding.Good luck and let us know how it goes. nuffluv Posted January 31, 2009 Author Report Posted January 31, 2009 i read through the "Priceline Re-Bidding Explained" previouslyi thought thats what i was doing...i dont understand what the zones are, are they not the areas which do not offer resorts ??
thereuare Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Following the PRICELINE bidding above you get 10 bids per bidding cycle... starting low and working your way up to your maximum, all in one bidding 'session'.Did you bid 10 times your last attempt... or just 5 or 6?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. nuffluv Posted February 2, 2009 Author Report Posted February 2, 2009 well i tried but after a while it just wouldnt take my request and told me to wait out the 24hrsim happy to now try a strategy for 4* in Waikiki beach area for a maximum of $130
thereuare Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 Regardless of whether you bid for a Resort or a 4* you'll need to understand your re-bid zones in order to maximize the number of bids you can make per a bidding cycle.Have you read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained? What did you for each of your re-bid zones above? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. nuffluv Posted February 4, 2009 Author Report Posted February 4, 2009 i did read it and i thought i understood it :sisnt my rebid zones all the areas available that do not have 4* ? previously it was all the areas that didnt have resort...so for each re-bid i would add on a zone and increase my bid, is that correct ?EDITED TO ADD : i just rebid again starting from $90 - was trying to do only 4* but it automatically selected resort as well and i eventually got the Hyatt regency resort at $120 a night
thereuare Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Sounds like a nice deal... hopefully you're happy with the results and this works well for your plans. When you select a star level it's the minimum that you're willing to accept. On the previous search when you selected 4*, it not only searched for 4* properties, but for Resorts as well, which is why the Resort level was already checkmarked. Thanks for sharing your win with the board. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
