Mat4twamp Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 Hello,We are staying one night in Reno on our way over to Vegas. I put in a couple of different bids for this $32, $35 and $38 and was denied on all. I notice that Hotwire has a 4* for that date at $44 bucks a night, it appears to be Harrah's. We just need one room for 2 people. I am thinking that Hotwire deal is probably the best? Thanks, Ryan
thereuare Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 Have you finalized any plans for the Priceline Las Vegas portion of your stay yet? Please post a follow-up there with any progress you have made and/or current thoughts on that leg of your trip... then bump this thread and include the amenities that HOTWIRE shows for the 4* Reno hotel above and we'll try to confirm if we too think it's Harrahs... and then will be able to make a determination if a good deal or not. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Thanks! Ryan
thereuare Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 From your other thread:Still haven't booked anything yet, I think I am going to wait until it gets a little closer and use HOTWIRE.What is it exactly that you're waiting for... do you expect rates to drop? (if so, why?) Are you looking for a different property to be offered?Given this Reno thread is continuous with your stay above, and that you're not ready to commit to the Las Vegas leg of your trip, are you ready to commit to this Reno purchase at this time? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Mat4twamp Posted January 30, 2009 Author Report Posted January 30, 2009 Ya I think the rates might drop in Vegas once it gets closer to our travel dates. There really isn't any hotels that jump out at me for the price I want to spend in Vegas. I am hoping in the next couple of months some new hotels may pop up or some prices may drop. I think with the economy being the way it is when it gets closer the hotels won't have full inventory so they may lower prices? I could be mistaken though as I am sure you know way more than I. The two Reno hotels are in the price range I was looking to spend so I wanted to book them as I don't know if they can get much lower than that? I understand Reno is alot cheaper than Vegas. I am waiting one the Vegas portion to hopefully get Luxor, MGM, TI, PH, NYNY or any other *4 on the strip for under $100. I found what appears to be the Tropicana for $79 but feel I may be able to find something better in the future.
thereuare Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Are both 4* Reno hotels above rated 4 stars? Which zone(s) are they in?Keep in mind your Vegas dates incldue March Madness which typically is an 'event' that brings people to Vegas. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Mat4twamp Posted February 2, 2009 Author Report Posted February 2, 2009 Yes both are 4 stars. The one that is $44 is in Downtown Reno and the $49 is in Reno-South - Reno/Tahoe Airport - Sparks
thereuare Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 For the Reno South property...If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the CONTINUE button next to this offering and then click the "See all amenities" link under the icons, do you see more amenities than what you've listed above? NOTE: you will likely need to click the pop-up window with the amenities, the CTRL+A, and copy/paste to a text program such as NOTEPAD or WORDPAD to see them all since HOTWIRE is missing the scrollbars from this window. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Mat4twamp Posted February 2, 2009 Author Report Posted February 2, 2009 The first property had no additional amenties1. $44 a night - Downtown RenoCasinoFitness Pool Resturant Spathe second had these additional: $49 a night - Reno-South - Reno/Tahoe Airport CasinoShuttle FitnessPoolResturantBusinessLaundryHigh Speed InternetGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa ServicesChildrens ActivitiesThanks
thereuare Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 The Downtown property is a match for Harrahs Reno while the South property is a match for the Summit at Grand Sierra Resort so that would be our best guess for each. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
