sunlove Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 Hello,I have never used PRICELINE before and am searching for a hotel for either 5/11 or 5/17. I have a few questions...when i search priceline for sonoma, only 1 3.5* hotel comes up for that time period. Would this be the hotel i would be bidding on if I bid for 3.5 stars? Also, if I search yountville...3 hotels come up but with no star ratings. Can I name my own price for these hotels? Thank you!
thereuare Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!when i search priceline for sonoma, only 1 3.5* hotel comes up for that time period. Would this be the hotel i would be bidding on if I bid for 3.5 stars? No, the "retail" and the "name your own price" (aka- opaque) version of PRICELINE each use a different pool of hotels... there is a lot of overlap, but there are some hotels on the 'retail' side that don't participate in the 'opaque' and vice-versa. For a further discusion see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.Also, if I search yountville...3 hotels come up but with no star ratings. Can I name my own price for these hotels? You can't bid on a specific hotel, and based upon the above, the two services use a different inventory of properties... i would guess that these properties with no star ratings do not participate with the opaque side of PRICELINE.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know if you have any additional questions or, if you'd like to move forward, if we can be of further help.
