Priceline Hotel: 2* San Jose (Airport SJC) Candlewood Suites

i was already staying at the doubletree and figured i'd get it again because the hotel was large and empty, but after going all the way up to $60, i decided to drop to 2* and start at $40. in retrospect, i should have started lower, but live and learn.

as for the property, my initial reaction was disappointment, but i quicky learned to appreciate its finer points --> free local calls/laundry/internet/dvds and literally on top of the santa clara depot (trains, buses, and airport shuttle).

Thanks for sharing your results and posting to the board. I know the brand Candlewood doesn't come with much fanfare, but the porperty here in NJ gets pretty good reviews for a 2* hotel.

Some on the board actually prefer these 2* and 2.5* properties as they feel they don't get nickle and dimed at every turn. (one reason why i've been saying lately that the Courtyard chain has really turned itself around for the better)
