I am new to doing the Priceline thing. I am going to scottsdale in march. I put in a $50 bid for a 4* hotel. It was accepted but I didn't take it because I am not familiar with Scottsdale. I would like to have a frig and micro... do any of the 4* offer those? Any help/advice on scottsdale hotels is appreciated.

Thanks milli

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Your bid was probably not accepted and you were simply seeing the "confirmation page" where PRICELINE has you review all of the information before you submit the bid.

Did you ever click the "Buy My Hotel Room Now" button? Was the name of the hotel you purchased shown to you? If not, then your $50 bid was not submitted nor accepted and it's not known if this would be enough for a 'win'.

With PRICELINE there in no telling if the hotel you received will have specific amenities or not... all that is guaranteed is a room which will accomodate double occupancy, at the minimum star rating your select (or higher), and within the shaded boudnaries of the zone as defined by PRICELINE.

If there are certain amenities that you need (ie- fridge and/or microwave) then HOTWIRE may be a better option as they will show you the amenities that the hotel offers before your purchase. One of the amenities that may be shown is a Kitchenette icon which is defined as:

Accommodations include a stovetop or microwave oven, a sink and a mini-refrigerator.

What are the dates of your stay? What is your budget and target star rating? If you search HOTWIRE do any of the offerings show with a Kitchenette icon?

Thanks. Yes I was only on the confirmation page.

AS far as getting a 4* or resort on priceline... are all of the fees covered in the bid? Will I be hit with "resort fees" or maid service tips, phone service etc automatically added to my bill? Can I expect to get to my hotel and not have to pay for anything else?

Thanks again.

Your bid is for the room, just as anyone else who booked a room directly with the hotel.

At that point you'll be treated just as every other guest... if resort fees are charged to 'traditionally booked guests' then you'll be charged as well, just as if 'complimentary breakfast' is a standard amenity included for traditionally booked guests it will be included in your room price as well.
