thereuare Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! What is the best rate you're able to get thru conventional booking channels? What is your maximum bid for a 4* hotel in this zone? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
andyouse Posted January 26, 2009 Author Report Posted January 26, 2009 Thanks for the reply. I haven't tried conventional booking channels, but the hotel's websites range from $209-$289/nt. for 4* in those Priceline areas. I don't want to pay any more than $95/nt., especially given other wins posted to your site that are less for the same timeframe in the same districts.I did use your PRICELINE links to bid.
thereuare Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 Rates are date specific, so unless the other deals you're seeing on the board are for the exact same dates, and length of stay, as your own, they may not be applicable to your own trip, even if for the same general timeframe. As well, your stay is for a full six nites, and even just one nite within that range with a higher nightly rate can effect your chances of a successful bid. With the above noted, i don't think you're too far off... HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the Dupont Circle zone for $119/nite for your dates (not yet identified) and a 3.5* in this same zone for $69/nite (best guess is the Hilton Embassy Row). Not sure if you want to go with one of the above or try PRICELINE up to your limit, but with hotel direct bookings that you've found starting at $200+ per nite, i'd suggest considering increasing your maximum bid a bit... if you were to land a 4* hotel for $110/nite wouldn't it still be a very good deal based upon the alternate rates you've posted above? (or if your budget isn't flexible consider the 3.5* on HOTWIRE, if that would work for your needs)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thougths and we'll advise accordingly. andyouse Posted January 26, 2009 Author Report Posted January 26, 2009 Good input. I will do a little more research before I decide (like looking up reviews on the Hilton Embassy Row). Thanks so much! :)
