Priceline Hotel: 4* Ft Lauderdale (Hollywood) Crown Plaza

I am new to this forum. I have used Priceline many times, but not Hotwire. I am trying to figure out the hotels listed for Hotwire. Is the hotel list on this site updated periodically? It does not list any hotel above a 3 for North F.L. Hotwire presented me a 3.5* for $84. It has smoke free rooms, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, laundry facility, and internet access. Any idea what this is? It also gave me a 4* at $136.

I am looking for one room precruise. I have made a reservation at the Hyatt Place via valuetrips.com at $169 and I am looking at some other options. I have been able to get a really good deal on a rental car for $10 and thus I have flexibility on the location for the hotel.

I also see a hotel listed in the F.L. beach area for $112 which reading this forum and the listed features must be the Doubletree at Gallery One.

Obviously the parking fee at each hotel is important to me because I have the car and no parking fee at the Hyatt with a free shuttle which is a factor in the total cost.

This looks to be a very nice website especially when considering both Priceline and Hotwire. Before starting to use this website I made a few bids on Priceline. I will bid via this website next time.

If a hotel has a resort fee or any other special fee will it be listed in the Hotwire bid?

Thank you.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

The above is a match for the Marriott Fort Lauderdale North so that would be our best guess.

HOTWIRE has begun to put resort fees as a 'note' on the booking page of some properties (ie- "NOTE: this property charges a resort fee of $5-10 per day to all guests, payable directly to the hotel...."), but it is far from universal for all hotels which charge a fee, so if this is of concern then you should check the hotel's website directly before making your HOTWIRE purchase.

Any resort fee would be additional to your HOTWIRE purchase and payable directly to the hotel.

Can you tell me how you were able to get such a great deal on your rental car?

Alamo. It was from an e mail, but you should be able to find it on their website. It is a special weekend rate and much include a Saturday night. It is for a compact thru premium car. I was shocked, it seemed almost too good to be true, but I have the reservation. Let me know if you cannot find it and I wil get you the codes.

Hotel website/trip advisor rate was $240. HOTWIRE was $113. After failing to get a hotel a 4* hotel in F.L. Downtown or Beach at up to $120, I bid $90 after seeing this hotel on Hotwire and reading the reviews. Since I have a car this will work out great for us. I will need to pay $14 for parking. This is a much better deal than my back-up plan for a cancelable rate of $169 plus taxes at the Hyatt Place.

This website particularily the HOTWIRE section was new for me and very helpful.

I should have bid a little lower to start because my first bid in this area at $90 was accepted.

I used the PRICELINE link at the of this page. Thank you for all the help.

I found a 4* in Hollywood which was most certainly the Crown Plaza for $113 on HOTWIRE. After reading various positive reviews I decided to try a bid on priceline and won the Crown Plaza Hollywood for $90 on 1/31. Very pleased with the results. I wanted to let you know. Bottom line is too bad for HOTWIRE (maybe next time), but good for PRICELINE and me.
