Rhine-and-Roses Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 Before I knew better, I tried bidding on 3 star hotels in Dublin and went well over $120 with no luck. (About 18 months ago.) My friend got the Days Inn Rathmines once at $120, but complained about noice. (I may be slightly off on the name.) Do check the TripAdvisor for ratings.I then tried four and five star hotels and ended up paying almost $300 for a 5 star. I confess it was for convenience and I was tired of trying. My point is, I made literally dozens of bids in Dublin over an 18 month period, and except for my April stay at the Shelbourne, I never thought I got much of a deal. Good luck. Keep trying. The Westin's site has been dropping prices. Maybe others are too. I think you can use a link on this site to book the Westin and other chains, and help support the site. (support page)
