Rooms for 4 people through Priceline

Did I read correctly that the hotel rooms you bid for through

Priceline are for 2 people to a room?

Can you get a room for 4 adults or do you have to bid for 2 rooms?

Are reservations through Priceline refundable if you have to cancel?

PRICELINE is a completely non-refundable service. Rooms are only guaranteed for double occupancy (1 bed, in other words.) While you may be able to negotiate with the hotel for two beds, they have the right to say no. A fair amount of people are able to work with hotels for two beds, but again, you have to go in knowing that the hotel may say no. There are some areas where I absolutely would not expect 2 beds, such as NYC. Some Vegas hotels have seemed a little strict lately, too.

If PRICELINE is not an option due to the occupancy restriction, HOTWIRE may be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy per room.

Although note that HOTWIRE, just like PRICELINE, is non-refundable, so you should only use either once your plans are firm.
