emeybee Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 I'll be staying in Vegas the nights of 9/3 and 9/4 (Friday, Saturday). Looking to stay at a 4 or 5* for as cheap as possible (prefer Venetian or Mirage)I would settle for a low-star backup, but don't have one yet as they all seem to require at least 1 night deposit and I can't afford to make the deposit and then buy a separate PL/HW room, at least until I get paid next week.Any suggestions on strategy?
thereuare Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 Welcome to BetterBidding!Do you have an upper limit as i quick look leads me to believe that current rates will be in excess of $100+/nite? Even if you don't have a back-up reserved, do you have an idea in mind as to the cost of your back-up? This will help provide a current bidding strategy as we can compare the potential outcomes relative to your back-up price and location. emeybee Posted August 9, 2004 Author Report Posted August 9, 2004 Welcome to BetterBidding!Do you have an upper limit? Have you priced hotels for this weekend and gotten a feel for rates at all? I'd ideally like to be about $120-150/night, but I don't know if that's possible. I've found the Mirage for $219/night, most 4* are about $200/night. Venetian seems to be about $275/night4* on Hotwire is 176 with Casino,Restaurant(s),Pool(s),Fitness Center,High-Speed Internet Access,Business Center,Golf Nearby,Tennis Nearby,Spa Services4.5* on Hotwire is 249 with Casino,Restaurant(s),Pool(s),Fitness Center,Business Center,Golf Nearby,Tennis Nearby,Spa Services
thereuare Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 ... and if you're not successful with Priceline/Hotwire are the $175-$225 rates you mention above for a 4* what you would end up paying OR would you lower your star rating and/or location preferences in order to get something less expensive?I'm just trying to understand where your preferences lie so that i provide the best advice geared to your needs. emeybee Posted August 11, 2004 Author Report Posted August 11, 2004 I'd most likely end up staying somewhere cheaper.
thereuare Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 The best deals i could currently find:$87/nite at Sahara thru QUICKBOOK$112/nite at Holiday Inn Boardwalk thru Expedia$145/nite at Tropicana (Tower Room, don't bother with the Garden Rooms) thru Expedia$160/nite at Flamingo thru their websiteNone of these meet your criteria for a 4* at $129 or less, but the above are what i perceive to be the best values out there and show you how tight demand is for these dates.
