thereuare Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Unfortunately the 5* in the North zone has not yet been identified and HOTWIRE doesn't provide any additional clues to assist in pinning it down.I'm in agreement with your best guess for the 5* El Centro property being the Westin. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
MadFlyer Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 I believe that it is the new Madrid Tower Hotel that just opened mid-January. http://www.eurostarsmadridtower.com/hotel-...ower-madrid.htmI have found it as low as $109 these past 2 weeks and it fluctuates frequently indicating a posible automated rate management system so pays to check often. Has been $109, $112, $114 and $119 on the date I needed this past week. I did not book it yet as Hilton and Delta have offers that prompted me to book the Hilton Madrid Airport for 80 euros a night for 2 night stay. Delta is then offering 6 times miles now until the 28th of February making a stay 3000 miles. http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/promotions/hi_...anSale,MajorOUShttp://skymilesoffers.delta.com/hotel_lto.php#hilton_4The Hilton offer requires payment and is non-refundable, but gives HHonors and FF miles. This offer is bookable until 31 January and is available the Friday and Saturday of you stay the 3, 4th and a best available rate of 125 euros the 2nd April. (available at most hiltons through 28 April)I will book and report this 5 star hotel in the future but will not do so when other better offers are available. If I was booking in your situation, I would go for the Westin, but I would switch to PRICELINE and bid 145, 150, 155 every 24hours as it is the only likely hotel in that zone. The Westin is a real old style European 5 star hotel. The Madrid Tower and Hilton are only 5 star by Spanish standards and are not traditional World-class hotels. Using my HOTWIRE to PRICELINE conversion, I would think you should win at 148 to 153 based on the current HOTWIRE $165.
